Sheena Greirson Clinic

We are delighted to welcome Sheena Greirson to Sevenoaks Riding Club.

Sheena is a listed dressage judge and event rider. Her clinics are aimed to improve rein contact. First she does off horse exercises which are followed by mounted sessions. The exercises are designed to help riders get the feel of a helpful usable contact, give tips on how to enable your horse to be more responsive and boost understanding between horse and rider. The sessions are both fun and informative. She will be holding off horse sessions on Monday 6th August which with follow by a mounted sessions the following day, Tuesday 7th August.

Mounted sessions will be in groups of 3 or 4

SRC members - £30 mounted £25 non-mounted
Non Members - £35 mounted £30 non-mounted

On Monday 6th August the session will start at 6pm and we will also hold a BBQ after the clinic and this will be open to all members.

I am a BD list 5 judge and compete now at Inter 1 level with one of the horses I ride that I trained myself to this level from an unbroken 3yr old.  She is the second horse I have trained to this level.  I also have my own thoroughbred mare at medium level,  she was placed 8th this year in the Pet Plan Championships at Hartpury.  My background is in eventing, I had a very good horse in my teenage years that took me from winning the Pony Club Championships to young riders team gold medal and competing at Badminton.  Dressage was one of her strengths and it was on her that I really began this journey of learning the art of Dressage. Following 13yrs in racing (during which time I bred and began training her nephew) I started to run my own business, combining a livery yard with competing and teaching, both of which I love.
 
My ethos is always to help people and horses to achieve their potential.
 
To this end for many years I have been working on the Rein Contact Clinic, as in my teaching and judging I often come across problems of understanding of this vast and complicated subject.  The contact created by the rider and received by the horse is affected by many variables.  I try to help the riders to understand, using fun and informative off horse exercises, this complex subject.  The follow up, on horse sessions, then build on this experience to complete a foundation which will bring a better connection between horse and rider and hopefully better marks in the arena!
 
I cater for all levels and everyone can come and enjoy these sessions whatever their experience.
