Sevenoaks Riding Club’s Junior Riding Team had reason to be proud of their performance at the British Riding Clubs’ National Championships at Lincoln on the 9th and 10^th of September.

The team of Nicola Bunch on Radscha, Alice Burgess on Florida Sunshine, Laura Reeves on Hedera Hat and Emma Howard on Mouse came second in the Junior Riding Test competition which drew teams from all over the British Isles. Alice and Laura also took fourth individual places in their respective arenas and Nicola was fifth in hers.

Competitors in the Riding Test are judged on their riding ability, and the standard at the National Championships is very high – so congratulations to them on their outstanding performance!

Laura and partner Emma Galpin, with Torynfd Black Star, were placed fifth in the Junior Pairs Dressage competition, performing a freestyle test with their well matched ponies working in unison.

Nicola was unable to be at the presentation of awards so Emma Galpin stood in for her at the prize giving.

In the Senior Open Dressage competition, Juli Southby (Piglet) gained individual seventh place riding Novice 26 and Vicky Rees (Market Design) was eighth riding Elementary 43.
