Area Winter Dressage, South
of England Showground, Ardingly |

This
competition was due to have been run in January but the snow put paid to that. Ground
staff at Ardingly had made a great job of clearing all the roads and concrete areas of
snow but unfortunately they had dumped it all in the outside dressage arenas. Some of the
heaps were shoulder high!
The only
alternative date available was the first Monday of half-term which unfortunately meant
that some people in the original teams were not available. We felt sorry for them but are
grateful to those who brought extra horses so that we could field two senior and two
junior teams as originally planned.
Once again
Sevenoaks won both sections and the dressage riders will join our Novice show jumping
teams at Hartpury at Easter.
The Junior
team: Anna Hollis (Lizzie), Alice McCready
(Reckless Ruby), both first in their arenas, and Jessica Sneddon (Poly Ruler) and Rohan
Cadney-Moon (Kells Celtic Silver) second in their arenas, beat Ardingly to second place.
The second
team: Rohan Cadney-Moon (Hallmark), Charlotte Payne (Mystique Bay), Hannah Stevens
(Magical Murphy) and Lizzie McCready (Castle Clover) came fifth.
The winning
senior team consisted of arena winner Jenny Kavanagh (Jolly), Jenny Mills (Ratina),
Maureen McDonnell (Evidence) and Voirrey Mitchell (Popeye).
 
The other
senior team: Juli Southby (Burt), Janet Paterson (Finnadoon), Maureen McDonnell
(Sturtwood) and Jenny Mills (Charlemagne VII) were seventh.
