Lodge Farm Hunter Trial

In association with British Riding Clubs' Area 10 Qualifier

15th October

Sevenoaks Riding Club had a successful day at the qualifying event run by British Riding Club’s Area 10 in conjunction with the Lodge Farm Hunter Trials at Matfield.

Jo Thomas (Kruja Roslyn), Sharon Richardson (Zeptepi), Sara Roberts (Ay Carumba) and Eleanor Comer (Climate) won the Open team competition by a wide margin, having come first, third, fifth and seventh respectively.

Sevenoaks Open Team

The team are eagerly anticipating competing in the team Championship to be held next June as part of the Kbis Equine Insurance sponsored Festival of the Hunter.

In recent years the Festival of the Hunter Championship has been held at Wittering near Peterborough but in 2007 it is moving to the popular British Eventing course at Aston le Walls in Warwickshire,

In the Senior Novice section the Sevenoaks team of Jo Donaldson (Ryan of Glen Carrick), Jo Thomas (Dubonnet), Pat Temple (Florentine) and Jan Ames (Marleys Cassanova) were second, just .8 of a penalty behind the winners and qualifying club, Ardingly. The Bradbourne team of Carole Cook (Budding Annie), Ros Buckfield (Guinness XI), Lynn Bright (Max) and Janet Phillips (Silvern Conetta), with a further two penalties, took third place.

The Junior Novice section was won by Rother Valley, with the Sevenoaks team of Laura Reeves (Hedera Hat), Emma Howard (Paddy), Alice Burgess (Cracker) and Vicki Lawrence (Louis) in second place.

Unfortunately for the Sevenoaks’ Senior and Junior Novice teams only the first placed teams go through to the Championship – but there is always next year!
