London & South East
Dressage to Music
Sands Farm |
20th October 2007 |
It took just two weeks for to devise
their winning for the London and South East Dressage to Music Championships.

Having worked together in Sevenoaks
Riding Clubs Quadrille team, Debbie Selden and Lorna Davis realized how well matched
their bay horses were and set about choosing music and choreographing a routine for the
pair in the Costumed Pas de Deux. With Newgale Caffreys Gold and Holly, they invoked
all the glamour of Hollywood in a performance entitled A Night With The Stars.
Their collaboration was rewarded by
first place with a score sheet showing all eights and nines; good or very good for every
movement and the artistic content.
Close behind them in
second place came another Sevenoaks pair. Ronnie Comfort
riding Dandy and Maureen McDonnell, who with Pedantic had earlier taken third place in the
Novice Freestyle to Music, portrayed a very different pair of stars; the rag-and-bone men,
Steptoe and Son. Last year they were advised that their horses needed to be more in
character, so this year wisps of hay and rags were flapping from manes and tails as they
made their entrance to the familiar theme.
