Sevenoaks Riding
Clubs End of Season Show was a family affair, with several mothers usually seen in
the saddle themselves introducing their children to the excitement of leading rein classes
and Gymkhana games.
 
More boys than ever
took part, with James Saunders winning the Intermediate show jumping and third in the
Open. Seven year old Luc Hanson won the Native Pony In Hand class with Pennway Columbus
and came third in Lead Rein Best Rider. Ten year old Jacob Burgess won his age group in
Handy Pony with Katie.
Seven
year old Harriet Gillam, twice winner of Lead Rein Best Rider, was this years Best
Rider (12 and Under) and Junior Versatile Pony winner, riding her new pony, Rosie.
Jemima Willard,
fourteen, won the Senior Versatile Pony with Puff and was runner up in Best Riding Club
Horse or Pony.

Marsh Rhiannon,
owned by Shan Loudon and ridden by Alice Burgess, won the Pickle trophy for Ridden Native
Pony on her last outing before retiring to have a foal.
Alice also won Ridden Hunter Pony with Florida
Sunshine and riding Cracker came second to Emma Howard and Paddy in Working Hunter Pony.
Frogpool Manor, the
shows sponsor, provided a selection of prizes for the junior competitors as well as
handsome rosettes for all classes.
Pat Nicholsons
dapple grey gelding, Market Design, third in HOYS Riding Club Show Horse in 2002, won both
the Ridden and Working Hunter classes with rider, Clare Bull. Vicki Lawrence was runner up
in both classes with King Louis, another handsome grey gelding.
Lisa Pilbeam, won
the Open Jumping on Barnobe, just two seconds ahead of Bullands Jorham and Lara Reddy in
the exciting jump-off.
Mandy George won the
Howlett Rose Bowl for Best Riding Club Horse with Diamonds Bryn.
