Redlands, 22nd July 2007 |
Fraggle Rock, owned
and ridden by Mandy Stell, was the popular winner of the Intermediate jumping class at
Sevenoaks Riding Clubs July show. The thirty year-old mare proved once again that
she was not ready for retirement, with a perfect double clear over the 2ft. 9in. course.
The show was
fortunate to be held on one of the rare sunny days in this soggy summer and the going in
the jumping arena was the best this year.
The day started well
for two sisters, with11 year-old Katie Featherstone winning the Udimore Farm Walk and Trot
Dressage with Marsh Rhianon, while14 year-old Emily won the Very Novice jumping on Rainbows
End.
The Novice jumping
was won by Kelly Elton, riding Benson, but they were just beaten in an exciting Top Score
class by Sara Roberts and Mahoule.
Preliminary and
Novice combined training were won respectively by Chloe Britnell on Grange Malone and Jo
Donaldson with Ryan. Both riders confirmed their leading dressage scores with clear rounds
show jumping.
Andrea Ayre, better
known by her maiden name Purchard, was delighted with a win in Prelim 16 and third place in
Prelim17 on Kraka, a horse that she had looked after for a couple of seasons and has
recently bought.
Jane Lockwood and
Double Decker rounded off consistent performances this season with a win in Prelim 17.

The Ibbett Mosely
Dressage Sash and SRC Rose bowl and Frys Novice Dressage Trophy all went to
Sturtwood ridden by Maureen McDonnell, winners of the Novice and Elementary dressage
classes.
The Ibbett Mosely
Show Jumping Sash and SRC Tankard went to Alice Burgess and Just Juice who had the only
double clear in the Open jumping class, as well as the fastest time.

Thanks go to main
show sponsors, estate agents Ibbett Mosely, to Udimore Farm for sponsoring the Walk &
Trot Dressage series and Bed-Down for generous prizes for the Open Show Jumping and
Elementary Dressage classes.
The Senior Novice
team competition was won by Ardingly with two Bradbourne teams taking the next two places.
Sevenoaks took sixth place with Jan Ames (Sparky), Sarah Crookenden (Teddy) and Anne Mills
(Greyfly).
The Sevenoaks junior
team, Emma Howard (Paddy), individual third, Vicky Lawrence (Louis), fourth, Alice Burgess
(Cracker), fifth, and Rowan Cadney-Moon (La Gioa) easily won the Junior Novice Show
Jumping; the only team with all riders double clear.
Rowan Cadney-Moon
had withdrawn from the jump-off for individual placings, but was earlier fourth in Junior
Style Jumping, in which the team came second, which was good enough to qualify them for
the Championships in September, together with winners, Dartford.
