Winter Dressage |
Sandhurst Farm, 24th Feb and
23rd Mar |
Many thanks go to Juli Southby, who
not only had the idea that it would be nice to put on some dressage competitions in the
winter months but got on and arranged them!
The riders at the first of two shows
running at Sandhurst Farm, near Lamberhurst, were all members. They were rewarded with a
beautiful warm sunny day. Fingers were crossed that the March show would be as kind.
Unfortunately Easter Sunday dawned with flurries of snow and some people decided to make
last minute withdrawals. Luckily for those who did brave the elements the warm-up was
under cover, the snow never settled in the arena and judge, Marion Bush advised riders
that she was quite happy for them to wear warm gloves and waterproof coats during the
spasmodic snow and rain and dressage riders are a hardy lot!
Juli and entries secretary, Lucy
Cunliffe, have promised to run more shows at Sandhurst Farm during the winter months at
the end of this year.
