Teams of Three Indoor Show
Jumping |
Eaglesfield, 10th February |
It was victory for the second year
running for Sevenoaks senior show jumpers at the inter-club friendly indoor
competition which traditionally starts the year for BRC Area 10. So popular has this
fixture become that jumping started at nine on a sunny morning and went on until well
after dark.
Five teams tied on 4 faults after the
first round of the senior competition and went into a jump-off for first place. Jenny
Mills, Sara Roberts and Jo Thomas for Sevenoaks and Anna Lemett, Madeline Kasch and
Phillipa Howe for Bradbourne ended the second round on 12 faults but first place went to
the Sevenoaks team, which had a combined time of 100.44 seconds, just faster than
Bradbournes 105.03 seconds. It was the second year running that this combination had
come out on top.
The other senior teams were hit by
withdrawals but we hope that those who were able to jump enjoyed the experience.
The day had got off to a promising
start for Sevenoaks juniors, Sevenoaks B being one of only two teams to complete the first
round on a zero score. In the jump-off Maidstone had just one fence down and Alive Burgess
and Alice and Lizzy McCready for Sevenoaks B had two down, which put the team into second
place.
Sevenoaks A team, Sam Leggett, Katie
Stell and Emma Howard (who was second individually in the Open section), took sixth place
in the junior competition. Eight place among the twenty junior teams entered went to
another Sevenoaks team, Steff Lawrence, Nicola Bunch and Alice Burgess.
