Great Result for Juniors at National
Championship
The
Sevenoaks Junior team of Alice Burgess (Cracker), Khia Cadney-Moon (What A Dazzler), Emma
Howard (Paddy) and Vicky Lawrence (Louis) were thrilled with their second place in the
2007 NAF Novice Indoor Show Jumping Championships on 15th April, at Hartpury College,
Gloucestershire.
The
girls and their families were able to enjoy a sociable meal together and put aside nerves
on the evening before the Junior Final.
In the first round Cracker, What a
Dazzler and Paddy went clear and Louis had just four faults, so with three scores to count
the team went into the second round on a zero score. The first three again went clear over
a very tricky course with a double, a treble and two narrow fences, with tight turns and
difficult angles but Louis misjudged the first element of the triple and then caught his
legs in the poles of the second element, causing both horse and rider to fall.
Vicky wasnt able to take
further part in the competition but still on a zero team score, Alice, Khia and Emma had
to get ready for the timed jump-off over much bigger fences.
Only three out of the eight teams in
the jump-off achieved three clear rounds. Sevenoaks had a zero score in a combined time of
84.48 seconds, only three seconds behind the winning Juniors, Nantwich Riding Club.
Many congratulations to all the team.
