Teams of Three

Both Meg Palmer and Margaret Thompson took part in “Teams of Three” competitions in the fifties and sixties, which ran at several prestigious horse shows and were open to riding club teams.

Margaret recalls that they were initially marked on turnout; cuff-links not shirt buttons, matching button-holes, spurs and garter-straps in identical positions and, of course, the soles of boots were polished and spotless.  The horses were ridden in double bridles.  The team performed a display in unison which usually included jumping together.
