The Club Badges

A horse’s head looking over a stable door was on the first Sevenoaks Riding Club badges and featured on schedules from the club’s first open show at Duke’s Meadow in 1950 until 1992.

In 1993 this old friend was retired.

At the end of 1992 “Hoofprints” asked members submit possible designs for a club flag.

Ella Winn was the only one to respond but her inspired design proved to be the perfect club emblem. The horse’s head with seven oak leaves representing the mane reflected the old club badge in a striking and original form and was adopted for the front cover of the 1993 schedule. The bold yet simple design has become the instantly recognisable symbol of Sevenoaks Riding Club.
